Head in my hands
Fingers blistered and bleeding from playing guitar all night
As I removed the last of you from my lips
Peeling the skin off each millimeter at a time
Tugging at the restless memories I was trying to fade
I sought the never ending sobriety of now
Calling upon to sun to detest me
With his scorching flames reaching to the moon
His reflection in her.
As I became aware
And I stared back
And its almost as though putting a shotgun to my head wasn't enough
maybe you'll understand at some point
though I really hope you never have to.
...and as i reached out for a hand, say your hand,
and i remembered it wasn't there.
maybe it was never there in the first place.
and i still know every time i see you there is a habit of excitement
that i would rather not break,
but knowing if that doesn't break something else might.

I'm not sure if I can understand the motives of most songs on a good day, but I do realize the effects. Blistering and bleeding so as to not use an excuse for your mouth so entwined in your true-like to ignore me. (But it's happened before.)
