Last year, my community was hit with tragedy.
January 8th, 2011 was possibly one of the most devastating moments of my life.
Then came the shooting at the theatres in Colorado.
Earlier this week, the tragedy at the mall in Oregon.
And now children in Connecticut were killed.
I can't explain how truly painful these events are and anytime they happen no one wants to talk about gun laws because it would be insensitive.
Let's not talk ourselves out of it, honestly there is no better time to talk about gun laws.

The mall shooting in Oregon hit close to home for me. A LOT of my friends were thinking about going to the mall the exact day the shooting happened. I'm really glad none of them decided to go.
